Luxury Swiss retreat Le Grand Bellevue, Gstaad, has refined its curated guest experiences –  from hiking to wild swimming, mountain top yoga to al fresco private dining plus new health and safety protocols – for its reopening on 3 July.

The property has implemented rigorous new health and safety protocol to ensure both guests and staff feel protected and supported throughout their stay, for example: providing hygiene kits for guests, daily temperature checks on arrival for all staff, high-tech cleaning methods and extra protective equipment for staff.

Meanwhile, the new Le Grand Bellevue App allows for contactless restaurant, spa and activity reservations and a direct chat service with their concierge.

Alpine nature and wellness experiences

On the experience front, nature lovers can choose from a range of outdoor experiences including a helicopter flight through the mountains or take a hot air balloon ride over Gstaad at sunrise. They can go for a bracing wild swim in one of Gstaad’s picturesque mountain lakes, cycle or e-bike along the region’s extensive network of vertiginous trails, and trail run through the verdant hills of the Bernese Oberland, all accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide.

Athletic pursuits can be followed by mountainside massages and yoga sessions to ease aching muscles, or by retreating to Le Grand Spa which offers 17 unique wellness experiences, including a Hay Sauna, Ice Fountain and Infrared Sauna, plus Himalayan Salt Grotto, Finnish Sauna and Laconium.

Le Grand Spa’s team of experts have also carefully curated a series of immune-boosting programmes ranging from half day to full day retreats that combine movement, nutrition and detoxifying treatments; for example, mindful forest walks, rejuvenating rascal rituals, lymphatic drainage, mineral body wraps, superfood smoothies, and plant-based cuisine.

Distanced dining

With just 57 rooms and a multitude of dining spots including Le Petit Chalet, LEONARD’s and The Sushi Bar, Le Grand Bellevue can offer dining experiences that allow for appropriate distancing whilst bespoke playlists and live music will ensure the convivial atmosphere remains.

Le Grand Bellevue’s culinary concierge service will also offer guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the best gastronomic experiences Gstaad has to offer, without encountering another soul.

These include a gourmet mountain picnic prepared by the talented chefs at LEONARD’s and lunch by the evergreen Lake Arnen, a locally sourced farm-to-fork dinner nestled in the forest in the hotel grounds, or a horse-drawn carriage to a secluded mountain hut for a tasty Alpine lunch of regional meats, cheeses, and delicately seasoned fondue, with views of the lake, waterfalls and peaks beyond.
